LA SALA DE SAN JOSE
Built in 1899 as a community dance hall and gathering place for the Sociedad, the men’s group of the local church, La Sala de San José has played a major role in Galisteo’s history. The adobe building is on the State and National Register of Historic Buildings as well as the Register of the Historic Santa Fe Foundation. The non-profit group La Sala de Galisteo was established in 2008 to restore, preserve, and maintain the building. It’s mission is to “educate the general public about, preserve the historic tradition of, and enhance the current atmosphere for the arts in the traditional village of Galisteo.”
