MADRID MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION
Driven by an all-volunteer staff, the Madrid Merchant Association is made up of businesses in the historic mining village of Madrid. Nestled in a narrow canyon in the Ortiz Mountains,this vibrant community has some 300 residents and more than 4 0 locally owned shops, galleries, restaurants and the famous Madrid Old Coal Town Museum. The Mine Shaft Tavern, a historic landmark, is famous for its green chile cheeseburgers.
The group collaborates with local organizations including Madrid Cultural Projects and The Turquoise Trail Association for events, fundraisers, grants and more.
