Founded by residents of the San Pedro community, this non profit corporation works to preserve and protect the rural residential environment of the San Pedro neighborhood area and to ensure that future development conforms with Santa Fe County’s applicable plans and ordinances. The association also represents the common interests of property owners/residents in the San Pedro Neighborhood community with respect to water quality and availability, public services, utilities, and other matters that affect resident. SPNA has helped establish a local volunteer fire station; successfully fought the reopening of a large mining operation at the old San Pedro Mine Site; helped establish conditions on the gravel mining operation on BLM land ; and worked on a variety of fire prevention and water quality issues.
