Founded in 2009 to protect and preserve La Bajada Mesa and its escarpment as a National Monument into perpetuity for public welfare, the CFLBM has worked extensively with national, state and local organizations and institutions to designate 128,000 acres of land as La Bajada Mesa National Monument.

The coalition has briefed President Barack Obama’s Administration on the proposed designation of La Bajada Mesa National Monument and secured Letters of Support to the President of the United States from national, state and local institutions as well as organizations, businesses and residents of Santa Fe County.
