Covering 1,116 acres with five miles of trails, the Cerrillos Hills State Park began as a popular Santa Fe County Open Space. Today it’s open year-round for day use, located just off the Turquoise Trail.

Journey back through more than a millenia of mining history, learning from interpretive signs at safeguarded mining shafts. You’ll also take in spectacular views of the Galisteo Basin and Sandia, Ortiz, Jemez, and Sangre de Cristo mountain ranges.

The park has a busy year-round schedule of educational, recreational and nature-based programs including bird watching, landscape photography, star gazing, lunar facts and lore, geology and more, led by the park ranger and guest speakers.
