BIRDS OF THE TURQUOISE TRAIL

Image

More than 250 avian species have been recorded in the Turquoise Trail region, but that number is likely higher. As you travel the trail, keep your eyes open for the red-tail hawk, ladder-backed woodpecker and wild turkey. You’ll also see pinyon and western scrub jay, mountain chickadee, gray titmouse and western meadowlark. The flammulated owl lives in the region, along with the white-throated swift and the raven.
