RURAL CONSERVATION ALLIANCE
This volunteer alliance of community organizations and individuals is dedicated to preserving and protecting the natural resources and rural character of the Galisteo Basin area.
The Rural Conservation Alliance has opposed an application for strip mining La Bajada Mesa, the southern gateway to Santa Fe and the Galisteo Basin and one of New Mexico’s most endangered places. RCA also has protested a water rights transfer application related to La Bajada Mesa and continues to support strengthening Santa Fe County’s mining laws. The RCA previously successfully opposed industrial mining in the historical Cerrillos Hills.
